English Language Learning for Elementary School Teachers
I’ve taught several ESL courses over the years and have learned a lot along the way. So here are some tips and tricks I’ve learned that will help you as a teacher.
First, don’t be afraid to try something new. Now and then, I’ll try a different approach to teaching a lesson, and usually, they end up being the most successful.
A lot of times, I’ll come up with a new way to teach the same concept, and if it works well, I’ll stick with it.
If it doesn’t work well, I’ll try something else. For example, in this video, I use a “dance” to teach the importance of keeping your eyes on the road while driving. In previous lessons, I’ve used “silly” dances to demonstrate concepts like this. Sometimes these ideas don’t work as well for the kids, and it’s easier for them to understand through visual aid. I’m not a big fan of silly dancing because there are so many other ways to teach the same concept that are more memorable.
